Story
In June I ran 5km in the Race for Life and raised a wonderful £750 for Cancer Research. I was delighted. This time I face the challenge of running more than 4 times that distance for another charity that is particularly important in our family - Haemophilla
In July I attended Jordan's final prize giving at Primary School. My stepson had had a particularly difficult couple of years with his haemophilia, missing weeks of school, spending a lot of time in hospital or at home in pain and in a wheelchair. He had hundreds of injections to keep his blood clotting ability at acceptable levels and despite all of this he passed the entrance exams for his school of choice. At the prize giving we were thrilled, and I have to say a bit humbled, to watch him receive his prize for "Courage in the face of adversity". At that point I decided I wanted to do something to show my support and the idea of doing a half marathon was born ! Since then Jordan has had several operations, is still having 2 injections of Factor 8 a day and is loving school !
