I'm doing this for a little boy called William Pederson he was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2013 When he was just 3 years old this tumour is very deep within the brain and they were told it's quite possibly inoperable.
William had a biopsy to see what kind of tumour it was this came back inconclusive, so The Royal Marsden decided to start William on chemo therapy straight away for 18 months. This has been tough going for him and his family, with regular hospital visits, traveling up to London from Worthing for his chemo, sometimes not being able to have his treatment due to him not being well enough.
Through all of this William has been Such a brave young boy, with such a brave and strong mother and father who are with him every step of the way and also have another son Henry, Williams younger brother to look after, and still work. I don't think I could be so brave.
I have two young girls 8 months and 3 years they are my world and I can't ever imagine what it must have felt like when they got told this news, for any parent it's the news you never want to hear and you would do everything in your power to make it all go away.
Gemma, Williams mother has said how amazing The Royal Marsden Hospital have been with William and supporting her and Grant. so I will be running this half Marathon to raise money for them so they can carry on doing what they do so well looking after their young patients and families.
My plan is to run this half marathon then if a space comes up for the full marathon in April I will be doing that for him too.
Thank you for reading my story,
