Story
Hilary is one of the Queen Bees and here's her story...
"This was my Mum in December 2017 just a month before her brain scan came back saying she had vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. Within days of her diagnosis we had a visit from the Memory team who went through what we could expect going forward and the help that was available to us. Mum was put onto the new patch which has had the effect of slowing down the disease so we can still manage her needs at home.
It takes courage and patience to work out a method or plan to keep life as normal as possible and the Alzheimers Society are a caring , compassionate friend who will walk the distance with you, your family and your loved one.
This can be a special time if you manage to giggle together with the new view of the world from your loved ones perspective. Be caring, be compassionate, be there for them :) ".
