Story
Ectopic pregnancy is a common, occasionally life-threatening condition that affects around 1 in 80 pregnancies. For us it happen twice and both times I could have died.
During the month of August, Ross and I have committed to doing 80 miles each, to raise money for this amazing charity who support families, going through the same life changing situation as we did. Most people are unaware of the signs and symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy or what one really is, we want to help fund a charity that raises awareness which in turn, could save so many more life's.
In 2019 Ross and I experienced 4 pregnancies losses in the space of 6 months. 2 were miscarriages but 2 were near fatal ectopic's, both requiring life saving, emergency surgery and resulted in the loss of both my fallopian tubes. At the age of 33 I was left infertile with no other option but to go through IVF, if we wanted to conceive again.
This experience has not been easy to deal with, not only for ourselves but also our close friends and family. We were not offered any help or support but instead left to muddle through the next near on 3 years of our life, including PTSD and mental break downs.
We are very blessed to have Lottie aged 5 and our son Harry, who is now 2. We were very lucky to be able to self fund IVF and for it be successful but others have lost their life's or not been able to have IVF.
We never want anyone to go through what we did, as much as it cant be helped, awareness and early intervention can be offered and support given which is what we were never given. Its now our time to give back and raise money to help others. Any donations that you can spare would be absolutely amazing.
All our love Suz, Ross, Lottie and Harry xx
