Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

We have signed up to run the Ealing Half Marathon on Sunday 26 September! This is our furthest distance run and to undertake this challenge we want to support a local mental health charity which directly helps those in a desperate situation.

Now, more than ever, The Samaritans are there, providing confidential emotional support for those who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including suicidal thoughts. The service is available to all, including young people and those under 18.

Funds raised for the Ealing branch will help towards phone, email and text-message support as well as outreach and education activities in Ealing.  For nearly fifty years volunteers in Ealing have provided support to the West London community and beyond, including operating the Listener scheme at Wormwood Scrubs prison. While face-to-face drop in services have been unavailable due to the COVID crisis, they are hoping to restart in the near future.
