Story

On Saturday the 11th of March i'm abseiling 100ft off of the Falkirk Wheel to raise money for Maggie's Glasgow.

Maggie's Glasgow were there for me long after my diagnosis and treatment for Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia. Diagnosed at 17 I spent 7 months as an in patient, celebrating my 18th birthday in hospital (see cover pic).

The NHS did an amazing job at taking care of me, treating me medically for my cancer. However, it was Maggie's who were there to pick up the pieces related to the psychological impact of my cancer treatment, which affected me many years later. This was specifically in relation to infertility, associated with my cancer treatment. The Maggie's psychologist helped me navigate this difficult time in my life.  Following numerous failed IVF cycles, much to everyone's surprise we conceived naturally, and Andrew was born in 2012!

I want to help to raise money for Maggie's Glasgow so that they can be there to help others, those with cancer and importantly their families and friends too!

If you can please donate to my fundraiser, thank you. Suzie x
