Story
On Saturday 20th December 2014 Charlotte was taken to hospital due to rapid weight loss, drinking a lot, peeing a lot, being very tired and generally looking very gray. On arrival at the hospital the paediatrician took a blood test which confirmed that Charlotte was Type 1 diabetic, a few days in hospital commenced whilst we awaited her blood sugar levels to come down as she was at a critical level and may not have been conscious. We got evicted just in time for Christmas and are daily life changed dramatically. 2 hourly blood tests (finger prick) commenced and yes this includes through the night. After nearly 2 years we just started to feel like we were getting used to the lifestyle change when Charlottes twin sister Summer became ill. After a dash home from Stirling Scotland on 28th August 2016 Summer was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and diagnosed.
Both twins now diagnosed and are lives are a constant battle with blood sugars, hormones and generally day to day life.
They are amazing they very rarely complain they both help each other, they are now both on pump therapy but life will always be constant battle with their blood sugars ruling.
