Story
As many of you know, my Mum (Barbara Case) died of Motor Neurone Disease in Jan 2009. There is still no cure meaning that individuals, families and friends are still suffering.
The MND Association relies solely on donations from volunteers to continue its amazing work, searching for a cure, supporting those affected (including friends and family) and raising awareness. So..I am organizing an event to do just this - it is only £4 for those not on a Living Wage and £8 for others.
To have MND means the neurons in your brain controlling muscle function start to die. There are different strains of the disease, but ultimately (usually over a period of 12-14 months) your limbs / muscles stop working and gradually you become completely immobile. My mum had the bulbar variety of MND, which meant over a period of 16 months she lost her ability to eat, speak and swallow.
This event is to celebrate Mum's life, but also to have a good knees-up with friends. It will be hosted at Dulwich Hamlet FC, http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/ on Thursday 19th June, 7pm. The Club has a rich history in footballing terms and in its involvement in the community, a perfect host for a great night of friends, entertainment and fundraising.
If you want to attend the event tickets are £4 for those not on a Living Wage and £8 for anyone else. Of course, if you want to and are able, please give more. If you can't make it, any donation will be gratefully received. If you want tickets, please request when donating.
Please make your name and contact details visible to me so I know who has bought tickets and ensure you are on the entry list!
Many, many thanks and looking forward to seeing you
Suzanne
