Story

Meet Emba, she’s been on a bit of a journey since she was found on
the 16th August.

She was discovered on the central reservation on the A22!
The people who found her thought it was a bundle of rags, when they got a bit closer they realised it was a small black cat! These lovely people picked her up and took her to Mavern Vets in Sutton, who contacted Cats Protection for support.

The vet confirmed that she was only a kitten at about 4-5 months
old and she had sustained some bad trauma to her face and hind leg. The leg was broken in several places and the vet decided that it was better for her welfare to amputate the leg.  Trying to mend it would have involved scaffolding around the leg and many months of cage rest plus possible additional operations.

Her mouth was in a bad way as well with many teeth chipped or
broken - several were loose and nearly falling out.  Since recovering from her leg amputation Emba has also had dental work done to remove the damaged teeth and make her more comfortable.
Emba’s stitches from the amputation have now been removed and she is recovering well, she is quickly learning she can use her tail for balance and is doing well with our fosterers until we find her forever home.

All of Emba’s treatment so far has cost the branch a huge amount
of money. During these tricky times we haven’t been able to fundraise as we normally would so are asking if you can help fund Emba’s treatment, any donation big or small will really help us and lovely Emba.

All funds raised above and beyond those needed to help Emba will be used to help other cats in the branch’s care.
