Event: St John Ambulance Sussex Homeless Walk, on 19 July 2020
During the COVID-19 outbreak, St John is actively supporting ambulance services, hospitals and communities to protect life and health through this worrying and uncertain period.

Story

I personally will be walking the part from Telscombe Cliffs to the Peace Statue and it's 7  miles.

Our homeless services provide first aid and primary health care to homeless and vulnerably housed people in Brighton and Hastings.

We train both homeless people and those affected by drugs and alcohol in basic first aid skills. We also offer first aid training to frontline workers for problems associated with homelessness, such as drug overdoses.

Our volunteers and staff based in Brighton and Hastings run drop-in clinics for homeless and vulnerably housed people. We also have a mobile treatment unit on Brighton seafront every Thursday evening (currently suspended due to COVID).

A group of us (volunteers and staff, myself having my volunteer hat on) will be walking from Hastings to Brighton on Sunday 19th July to raise awareness of the homeless people in Sussex and money for St John Ambulance so the charity can continue it's work in the Communities.

Help us ease the strain during the COVID-19 outbreak. Our dedicated St John Ambulance volunteers are standing by to relieve pressure on our NHS by boosting the health response in communities across the country
