We provide holistic care and support to those affected by life-limiting illness

Story

Each year we will choose and work with a charity partner of the year, and East Sussex College Hastings’ charity of the year for 2018/19 will be St Michael’s Hospice.

The Hospice provides crucial care for those facing life-limiting illnesses, as well as support for their families. At the college we have several staff who have a friend , family member, or former colleagues who have received this support, and this is one way that we can give back.

The Hospice needs to raise over £4.3 million every year to help with running costs of its services which include: the In-Patient Unit, Day Services, Hospice at Home, volunteer-led Hospice Neighbours,Bereavement Services and Night Sitting.

We have set ourselves the target of £10,000 to help the charity provide one day of care for its patients.

We will be taking part in, and hosting, a number of events and activities throughout the year to raise money for the Hospice. To kick off our year of fundraising we will be taking part in the Dragon Boat Race in September – we look forward to seeing you there.
