Story
In less than 4 weeks time I will be running the Bupa Great Birmingham Run (half marathon) and I thought it a great opportunity to raise some money for a worthy cause!
All the money donated will be going to International Nepal Fellowship (INF), a Christian organisation and partner charity of Baptist Mission Society (BMS).
In April 2012 I will be travelling out to Pokhara, Nepal to work at the Green Pastures Hospital as part of my medical elective. Green Pastures is one of many INF projects providing medical care for patients with leprosy and other disabilities, many of whom are too poor to afford treatment. The hospital provides leprosy care, surgery, nursing care, physiotherapy and occupational therapy among other services to its patients.
Here are some practical things that your money could go towards:
Food for a patient for a week = £7
Theatre time and materials for an operation = £40
Hospital bed = £110
Wheelchair = £164
For more information go to http://www.inf.org/
Please don't feel pressured to give financially, your support on the side line on 23rd October in Birmingham would be appreciated massively too!
Many thanks for your generosity, God bless
Susie
