Story
Hello All!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page..
Although no stranger to hair-brained schemes, in a moment of sheer madness I've committed myself to (attempting to!) walk 100k in circa 24 hours from Putney (London) to Henley-on-Thames (Oxfordshire) on September 13th as part of the Thames Path Challenge 2014.....for more info and/or to wind me up about the sheer distance of the route check out - http://www.thamespathchallenge.com/
(FYI - I just want to point out how bloody far 100k will feel when you're travelling on somewhat vertically limited limbs like myself!)
If you're wondering why in god's name I would want to do this (something that has occurred to me repeatedly as I write this!) the truth is I want to challenge myself (as sad as that sounds) and whilst doing so, I'm also hoping to also raise money for the Rainbow Trust (an amazing charity that offers all kinds of support to parents of terminally ill kiddies and a very worthwhile cause in my opinion)
http://www.rainbowtrust.org.uk/Although I may have been known to display some relative endurance and/or stamina on the odd night/weekend(!) out, I've never remotely undertaken anything like this before, for charity or otherwise, so I'm genuinely feeling a tad aghast at the prospect!!
Hence I would HUGELY appreciate any donations (however small - every penny counts!) that anyone can spare to help me reach my minimum target of £500...I promise to walk my little stumps off and, this incredibly worthwhile charity aside, anything that keeps me out of the pub for 24 hours should be whole-heartedly supported, no?! ;-) ;-)
Massive thanks,
Susie xxx
