Story
I am running my first ever Great North Run and the longest run ill have done to date to try and raise money for the amazing MS Society which is close to our hearts.
They are a brilliant charity who use the money donated to help sufferers of MS and their families. Providing practical, financial and emotional support. As well as using money towards research and projects to help cure MS.
Around 100,000 people in the uk have MS. MS affects the central nervous system(brain and spinal cord) which controls all of your bodys actions. There are many different symptoms of MS and they effect each person differently. Some of the most common include:
- Extreme tiredness
- Numbness and tingling
- Blurred vision
- mobility problems
- loss of balance
- muscle weakness
- muscle tightness
- emotions
My amazing sister has suffered with MS for over 15+years and to watch someone you love, slowly lose the abilities we all take for granted everyday and have their world turned upside down is hard. But not as hard as it has been and will be for her in the future. She has and does deal with it with in such a admirable way. Im super proud of her and love her very much.
Anyone who knows me knows i hate running with a passion 😂😂🏃♀️👟 but ill be running on the day for her, she was a fantastic runner and i know she would love to still be able to take part. So she will be at the front of my mind all the way round especially when i feel i cant do it.
Training is well underway and is consisting so far of at least 2 shorter runs and 1 long run a week plus gym sessions. Although it will be an achievement for me i would love to raise as much as i can for the MS charity so they can continue to do amazing work. So if its £1 or £100 as cheesy as it sounds every little helps and will be much appreciated.
Thankyou
Sooz
