Story
I am running the London Marathon on 26 April 2015 to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
My 13 year old son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just over two years ago. It came completely out of the blue and has been a steep learning curve for him. We are all so proud of him as he has taken control and refuses to let diabetes change his life.
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic, life-threatening and lifelong condition. It is caused by a defect in the immune system, it is not caused by lifestyle and cannot currently be prevented.
JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity, improving lives until they find a cure. JDRF is committed to funding the research that will lead to the cure for type 1 diabetes.
