Story
Sue Bradley and Heather Fox from Team Jones and Palmer are running the BUPA Great South Run – seriously this is NOT A JOKE!!!!
We have decided to enter this run for many personal reasons, keeping fit being near the top of the list. But primarily it is to show our support and raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity.
Macmillan Cancer Support provide not only medical care to cancer patients but also provides a range of support services to the families of those suffering from financial to a shoulder to cry on. Cancer does not just affect the sufferer, it has a massive effect on those around them. With this in mind we feel that running 10 miles is nothing compared to what some people go through and therefore would like to raise money for this support to continue.
Should you wish to know more about Macmillan Cancer Support please have a look at their website after you have sponsored us!
Training is well on the way for both of us with Sue completing the Cancer Research Race for Life (5K) again this year. Commenting on her training progress Sue has said ' the training is going well and I'm now regularly running 5-7 miles each time I go out and I'm now starting to feel confident that I can finish it!'.
Heather has recently completed the Asics 10K London Run in July, and will continue to train with the assistance of the Army’s Royal Logistic Core – ‘its tough but the rewards will be worth it’ comments Heather on her training.
Lastly we would like to thank you for looking and hopefully sponsoring us! Please be kind enough to forward this link to anyone else who knows either of us, or would be generous enough to sponsor us. We have committed to raise at £500 so every penny (or pound!) counts.
Thanks everyone.
Sue and Heather
