Story
In July I lost a very dear friend to ovarian cancer. A couple of weeks before she died the hospital suggested she move into a hospice? Initially she was horrified at the thought, but it turned out to be a fantastic place. It was peaceful and friendly, with lots of nurses and volunteers around to help. Her bed was next to a french window onto a verranda that overlooked mature trees and garden in a spacious ward. They were supportive and respectful to Alison and those around her. They couldnt do enough, even organising a wheelchair taxi to take her to see her beloved horse and dog a few days before she died, literally lighting up her face. It is a great comfort to me that she spent her final days being so well cared for.
So when an opportunity to raise money to support this hospice arose I jumped at it. On September 14th I will join her close friends and family to do a 10k moonlight walk around Stamford. Please sponsor me/donate if you can. Thanks very much.
