We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

As some of you may know I deal with people and their families who are having to cope with the affects of alzheimers every day of their lives.  I did not fully understand the impact it has on the whole family untill my husbands grandfather was diagnosed some years ago.  Watching someone who had been an intelligent, indepenant supportive man descend into a dependant confused sole was hard for all the family.  Esspecially so for his wife, who's own health was failing.  She carried on for some time untill it all became too much for her to cope with.  I have known many carers who carry on uncomplaining in their quest to ensure that their loved one, sweetheart, friend has as normal a life at home for as long as they are able.  This is why I have decided to run on behalf of Alzheimers Scotland carer assistance.
