Story
Two years ago I decided to grow my hair in readiness to donate it to little princess trust to make a wig for children undergoing chemotherapy. In October last year my fantastic friend Dawn was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has undergone chemotherapy during the last 5 months and will have her surgery at the end of April. Dawn has been so scared to lose her hair but has managed to keep a fair bit. Chemotherapy has been tough but she has continued to stay positive, happy and even work! She is a huge inspiration to me. So instead of just having my hair cut to the length of a short bob (my original thought), I am asking you to sponsor me to have it shaved to a number 1 to raise money for prevent breast cancer (come on lets wipe out this cancer for good)!! So dig deep and have a laugh at bald Sue!
Predict. Prevent. Protect. You could call it our mantra. As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
