Story
I sometimes help at my local parkrun. There I meet people who work for Access Community Trust, and also those who are currently in the process of turning their lives around, with the help of this great organisation.
I live in a small isolated seaside town, where unemployment is high and job opportunities are relatively few. For some people, for whatever reason, life is hard, and they’ve fallen through the government’s safety net.
Access Community Trust not only provides accommodation for these people, but can also help with life skills, training and employment opportunities, to help them get their lives back on track. Meeting and chatting with these people at parkrun is humbling, and reminds me that I am lucky, and need to be grateful.
I’m running London to say thank you to all the Trust’s workers, who do a sterling job.
