Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those of you who know me will already know of my passion for helping the Orangutans in their fight against possible extinction in the wild. I had the privilege of working with these beautiful, amazing and intelligent animals 14 years ago and even in that short time the orangutan population has declined by more than 25%, mainly due to loss of habitat for the production of Palm Oil. It doesn’t bear thinking about our closest cousins becoming extinct in the wild and I am taking part in the Great North Run to try and raise vital funds to support the incredible work that the Orangutan Appeal UK is involved in. The Appeal plays a key role in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of the orangutans by supporting the work carried out at the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo. If you can donate any amount at all to help save these beautiful animals I would be very very grateful, every penny really does help.
Thanks so much for reading this and wish me luck, I think I might just need it!! xx
The coronavirus could potentially pose a lethal threat to orangutans too, making the work to protect their dwindling numbers even more critical. The dedicated care staff at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre are continuing to look after the orangutans in their care. Help to continue caring for the orangutans during this crisis.
