Although not much of a runner, I decided to run this 10K to raise funds and awareness of Muscular Dystrophy as my lovely little 5 year-old nephew Leon  has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) a condition for which there is no cure.

Muscular Dystrophy UK is an excellent charity raising funds to support those with muscle-wasting conditions such as DMD and financing research to find treatments to stem the devastating effects of Muscular Dystrophy.

The date of the event is 15 May 2016 and if you could spare a pound or two for this very worthwhile cause, it would be much appreciated! Leon and all his family have moved to the US so he can participate in the Eteplirsin drugs trial - a treatment which is showing great promise in slowing the impact of Duchenne.  Money is really needed to fund further research into this heart-breaking condition. It is such a worthwhile cause and having recently discovered that I too am a carrier of the faulty Duchenne gene I know how lucky my boys are not to have inherited this devastating condition.  Leon is the first to have inherited the condition in our family and the money raised for Muscular Dystrophy UK will fund future research to help and perhaps one day fine a cure for this horrible condition.  Thank you all once again.
