With only 2 months to train and a bit of a challenge my friend Janyll and I will be running the Bupa great north run in September. Unfortunately a very good friend of mine lost the battle to a Brain Tumour in June as did my Auntie a few years ago. It has spurred me on to do something to raise money and awareness of the disease and have decided to step up to the challenge!

I have gone with Brain Tumour UK as I have recently lost an awesome friend Christopher Ward at the age of 26- who was amazing throughout, so brave and fought it to the end, still making me chuckle along the way.

Cancer research is vital, but Brain tumour research gets something tiny like 0.7%. I have to raise 750 quid and get half marathon ready!! Please if you can donate a bit o' money to a great cause, in memory of a great friend then that would be excellent.

If anyone has any good ideas for fundraising that would be awesome too as Janyll Rawlins and I have to raise 1500 between us! If anyone reckons they could get a sponsor form around or something let me know. Also we may be in need of volunteers for some tin shaking or if anyone has something coming up they could incorporate fundraising to please do let me know!

As well as training really hard (which we have already started!) I am going to give up smoking and get healthy enough to complete the race in good time.

We have a large target as we are raising money for a charity and will hopefully be organising several events which we may have to ask people to help with too!

I will put an update on here soon! For now I need to learn how to run!!!
