Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you might already know and others might not, The last couple of months of my life have not been easy. Last july 2012 I was diagnosed with thyroidcancer, 'one of the easiest kinds of cancer' as the docter said, but still after hearing this news it felt like my little Susie world crumbled appart.
Everything went so fast, before I knew it I was in the Hospital waiting to undergo Surgery and after some complications my road to recovery started.
During my treatment and recovery I stumbled upon some problems I did not know how to deal with, or what I could do to solve them. Me being very sceptical about some things in life found the courage and called the McMillan team to see if they could help.
I have spoken to different people and the help I received was absolutely perfect, As soon as I told them I had thyriodcancer I did not have to ask them anything anymore. they knew everything about it and were very aware of the process I had to follow. I have been offered all the help I needed and even been made aware of things I did not know a thing about.
Being in this situation has made me realise a lot of things in life, however massive your support system is or however small sometimes you just need to be pointed in the right direction physically and emotionally to be able to deal with cancer, and this is exactly what McMillan did for me and is still doing the same for others.
I know that all the money I will raise for McMillan will be used for such an amazing cause and in such a good way that it will help other people in the same kind of situation to be able to breathe and relax again, that they don't have to worry about work, treatment or finances and that they can just focus on themselves and their recovery.
Thanks for taking the time to read my story, all donations, however small or big are very welcome!
I will be swimming the great manchester 1 Mile Swim AND I will be participating in the London Triathlon to thank you all for your support!
Love, Susi
