Story
On 5th January 2017 my devoted son Chris was tragically killed whilst out in his wheelchair exercising his dog Elsa. Chris was a devoted father, brother, uncle and friend to many. Chris was a truly inspirational and courageous man who despite his disability lived his life to the full. Throughout his life Chris liked nothing more than to help others.
From that day onwards myself and my family have been supported by the Road Victims Trust (https://www.rvtrust.org.uk) The counselling provided by these dedicated professionals has been paramount during our time of unimaginable emotional crisis. Without the vital support of the RVT I would not have learnt the coping strategies and techniques that have given me hope for the future.
The RVT are helping us all to rebuild our lives and will continue to help so many other families who face life changing events.
We are so very thankful to the RVT. Words do not feel sufficient so on Friday 17th May I intend to take part in a marathon with a difference.
I will start the day with a 21km/half marathon on my cross trainer followed by a 21km/half marathon walk. Members of my family will join me on the circular walk incorporating part of the Stour Valley Path.
One moment in time changed our lives for ever. If you feel that you would like to support me and my family in raising funds for the RVT so they can continue their valuable work by giving hope to others you can do so by donating on my JustGiving page.
Our thanks to you all.
