Not only did I take on this challenge but I smashed it. My overrall position was 16th out of 200 runners and I was 2dn Female. Time taken to run 7hrs and 28mins.

Working on the Paediatric Critical Care Unit during the Pandemic has proved to be difficult and challenging at times for the whole team. With the help of the Noah's Ark Children's Charity we have tried to make the whole hospital experience less stressful for the children and families and more child focused during these difficult times. 

During the Pandemic the Noah's Ark Children's Charity helped to provide essential equipment such as IPADS so that the Children could keep in contact with their family and friends when only one parent was allowed on the unit to stay with them. They also funded Non-Invasive Ventilation so that the best care possible could be delivered to the Children. Overnight bags were provided so parents had essentials that they may need for an emergency/unexpected admission and basic foods were also provided so parents did not have to worry about being too far from their Child. 

Prior to the Pandemic the Noah's Ark Children's Charity have always been a valued support to staff, parents and children. They have arranged for the therapy dog 'Nico' to visit the Unit on a monthly basis. Also for children with extended stays we have arranged a special treat - this has been anything from their favourite character coming to visit or for a cinema night with pizza and popcorn. 

Those of you who know me well,  I am keen runner who has run numerous half marathons and marathons for various charities over the years. Due to the numerous cancellations over the pandemic period I decided to take on a new challenge and run the extremely demanding Brecon2Cardiff Ultra Marathon (70k/44miles) the furthest I have ran in one go for the Noah's Ark Children's Charity. The Noah's Ark Charity is amazing for us so it's time to give something back so they can continue to do their fantastic work!
