Sponsored 5K Fun Run - 27th September 2015 – 11:30am
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Alex joined the Surrey Wheels for All (Cycling Projects) at the Sheerwater track in the Summer of 2013, although partially sighted and with other physical disabilities, within a few weeks was able to ride an adapted bike on her own by following the white lines around the track. Alex loved racing round the track, the feeling of independence and the wind in her hair always brought an even bigger smile to her face.
Alex sadly passed away earlier this year at the age of 12 ½ and 5 K is 12 ½ times around the 400m track so it seems only right to complete the 5K on the track where Alex and her family had so many happy memories.
The Surrey Wheels for All projects is an all-inclusive cycling project dedicated to offering people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to experience the benefits of cycling. They provide a fun and safe environment with a range of adapted cycles such as; trikes, quads, hand cycles and adapted tandems.
We
are looking to try and raise money to purchase a new bike for the Woking Surrey
Wheels for All called a FUn2Go Tandem Companion bike, which cost about £5,000.
