Hope for Flood Victims · 2 August 2022

Our vision is of a society where people of all backgrounds are not only tolerated but respected. This can only be done by celebrating our rich diversity and shared heritage. “We will strive to promote, celebrate and bring together the diverse communities and cultures to foster cohesion & harmony.”

Story

The people of Sylhet has been badly affected by by the deadly flood which has been recorded as the worst for 122 years.

Millions of people were displaced, hundreds of thousands of homes were destroyed, thousands of people lost their livestock, day to day jobs & earnings. Tens of people died or unaccounted for due to the severity of the flood.

As the people of Sylhet started to dream to begin a normal life after the devastation, the historic Surma Centre would like to extend its hands to support the people of Bangladesh.

The Surma Centre, it's board, supporters have always stood by the community in Camden and beyond. This time for the first time we have initiated a partnership with Channel S Television to raise funds.

Together we can stand beside the victims of flood, build their homes, provides food to the vulnerable , help the young students who are badly affected by flood and may be forced to abandon education in order to support their families financially.

Please come forward and support generously.
