Story

Have you watched the Today is Perfect clip on this page? Surfers Not Street Children is a surfing team with a difference, based in Durban, South Africa. All the team riders are former street children committed to inspiring other children still living on the streets around the world and changing the way that society perceives and treats street children. The team, most of whom were orphans transformed their lives through a fusion of surfing and psychosocial services. They live together in the team house, called the Surfhouse, near New Pier in Durban. Surfers Not Street Children is supported by O'Neill and super surfer, Jordy Smith, who also comes from Durban. Help us develop the Surfhouse as an HQ and home for the team as they share and inspire through their incredible stories, passion and surfing.

We are a charity working to promote and provide community led welcome for displaced people. Our aim is to provide the type of friendship and practical support that anyone would hope to have if they were forced, under such circumstances, to start over in a new and unfamiliar place.
