5k Richmnond Park Walk in Summer 2017, 9 September 2017
Following the successful running of the ‘Walk for the Blind 2015 & 2016’ the Om Saravanabhava Seva Trust UK raised over £30 000 to aid blind & young victims of the civil war, in Sri Lanka.

Story

As many people know about my Sri Lankan ancestry, I have witnessed first-hand the severe impact of 30 year long civil war that impacted on the lives of many families. Almost every person has lost someone close to their family. Although, there has been significant rebuilding in the main cities and towns, but there are still many rural villages that have not received essential help they need.

The charity I walked for has been started up by a close friend of mine, and therefore I can vouch for its genuine ability to help and make a difference to so many lives, specifically those of underprivileged children who have been affected by the atrocities, which caused them to loose their eyesight, hearing and develop severe disabilities.

I would be incredibly grateful if you could donate for this cause. Any contributions you make, will be invaluable help for the poor and forgotten children there
