Story
In October the postman knocked on my door with that rarest of deliveries. More unusual than a unicorn. More sought after than a leprechaun's gold. Scarcer than a Sasquatch.
A London marathon ballot place. After only eight years of entering.
Huzzah!
Now I've run marathons before. Five of them in fact, including London, with a charity place. The fundraising was far, FAR harder than the training. This time, I don't have to raise a penny. But I want to. For a charity I value greatly.
The Jim Cronin Memorial Fund was established in memory of the man who established Monkey World, the ape resuce centre located in Dorset. The charity works to support primate welfare and conservation around the world, and Monkey World is essentially a refugee centre for a huge variety of primates who have been smuggled from the wild, sold into the pet trade, used as circus and photographer 'props' and generally abused and neglected by mankind.
Monkey World relies on supporters and donations. Anything I can raise for them will be funds well used.
Give what you can, the monkeys would thank you! As do I :)
