Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page.
Back In September 2021 my brother, Adam was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour after collapsing at my nephews football with a seizure. He received amazing care at Southmead Hospital where he had the tumour removed. Unfortunately histology confirmed in late October that the tumour was highly malignant and Adam would need treatment. Adam commenced Radiotherapy Monday - Friday, in addition to oral chemotherapy every day of the week for 6 weeks. This phase finished on New Years Eve 2021 and then he embarked on a further 6 cycles of Chemotherapy from January to June 2022 to minimise the risk of the tumour returning.
Adam’s most recent scan in July 22, was reassuringly positive with no evidence of anything to worry about.
Adam has been so brave since the diagnosis and remained positive when it would have been easier to crumble. This is in some part down to the brilliant work of Brain Tumour Support who have provided Adam with someone to talk to, support groups to attend and supported with counselling.
I feel privileged to join Adam and my Sister-in-law Emily run the Bath Half Marathon, something that didn’t seem feasible at the start of the year. We are raising money for Brain Tumour Support because unfortunately others will need this network. As a family we are grateful for donations to ensure the great work of this charity can continue.
