Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A big part of Poole Hospital Charity's work at the moment is a campaign called 'Consider Dementia'. This is to enable changes and improvements to be made to Poole Hospital to make it more dementia friendly which will focus on our resources, the environment and the therapeutic care we give our patients with dementia.
We are a small Dementia Team here at Poole, who are supporting each other together with our Matron and Carers Lead, to face our fears and walk across hot coals to raise money for our Consider Dementia Campaign. We are absolutely passionate about dementia and being able to make improvements in the hospital would make such a dramatic difference.
We are hoping to create more positive environments across the hospital, with bright coloured areas, dimmer lighting, consistent flooring, better signage, bigger clocks and orientation boards. We would also like to invest in more resources which will help us provide further support through 1:1 time and therapeutic activity which will help relieve boredom, anxiety and agitation.
We have had such an amazing response from the community from our recent Twiddle Mitt plea and we have been overwhelmed by peoples kindness. Please please continue that kindness and donate to this page to support the Dementia team achieve their goal. It would be great to have the community cheering us on and show that dementia is everyone's business.
For those who are unable to donate then please join us and consider fundraising for 'Consider Dementia' through your own FireWalk Challenge! Please contact Poole Hospital Charity or look on their website to find out how to get involved.
Thank you in advance from the Dementia Team at Poole Hospital.
