Story
On Wednesday 16th March Dan Look and Matt Morgan will leave Maidenhead with a 3.5 tonne Luton van and travel to Lewisham Polish Centre (LPC) in London. There the van will be loaded with medical supplies, tents, sleeping bags and other essential aid for the Ukrainian people. We will then travel to our designated liaison point on the Polish-Ukrainian border to deliver these desperately needed supplies.
Over the last week or so, the LPC have done an incredible job of coordinating and collecting donations from the public and companies alike. Although the emphasis and advice is now changing from in-kind donations to monetary donations (to DEC and the large charities), LPC need urgent help to get the aid already collected to those who need it most.
We are donating our time (a round trip of around 5 days), and will pay for our own accommodation and food en route. This fundraising page is to help LPC cover the cost of the vehicle hire, channel crossing, fuel and road tolls. We have linked our Fundraising page to that of the Lewisham Polish Centre and we (and they) would be grateful for donations to help cover the costs of this supply run. We have guaranteed to the LPC to cover these costs in the event we don’t raise our total.
We have put an estimated £1,500 total for these costs at the top of the page as our fundraising target. At the request of LPC, any additional funds we raise will go directly to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) which is coordinating aid to Ukraine via the major agencies.
