A team of us are taking part in the Superhero Challenge at Temple Newsam on Saturday 30th June.
Our very own superheroes are Sam, Gabriel, Emelia, Jessie and Katie. We are fundraising for a very special charity, Children’s Chronic Arthritis Association (CCAA).
Sam and Gabriel have had juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) for a number of years, Sam since he was a 5 month old baby, Gabriel since before he was 5 years old.
They both have weekly injections to keep their arthritis under control. Sam will be starting an additional injection very soon. They both have had a number of individual/multiple joint injections under general anaesthetic or gas and air.
Neither of our boys complain and they do their very best to continue with their sports and keep up with their friends. They are the most determined children I know!
Both Sam and Gabe are currently going through joint flares so this is going to be one heck of a challenge for them. But I know the support of all the other children and parents will get them all through it and they will be amazing!
We are all so looking forward to doing this challenge. I know all our little superheroes will smash it.
Children’s Chronic Arthritis Association is a fantastic charity that provides help and support to children with arthritis and their families. Please support our charity and donate a pound or two if you possibly can.
Many thanks
