Story
The RAF Benevolent Fund has been the leading RAF welfare charity for over 100 years. In that time, we’ve helped thousands of members of the RAF – as well as their partners and dependants – through some of their toughest times. Thanks to our supporters, we’ve been able to provide practical, financial and emotional support for the RAF Family when it has been needed most.
As a person serving in the Armed Forces myself, it's reassuring to know that there is a charity like the Benevolent Fund available to serving RAF personnel, veterans and their families; supporting them through hardships, helping with service life and supporting the RAF family through injury or death.
To support them, im going to be walking solo from the North East, to the Lakeland Fells in the North West, a journey of roughly 100 miles. I'll be carrying all my kit on my back, camping across the country from fields to fells. I'll be finishing my journey at the site of a WW2 aircraft crash on the slopes of Skiddaw, to remember the aircrew that lost their lives there.
