Story
SUNDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER 10-11am at Hartland Stud, BH20 5DU
UPDATE: We raised £144 on the day and anything else is gratefully recieved, thank you so much.
This hour long yoga class was designed to suit all abilities.
The intention is to bring awareness of yoga as a tool for keeping calm and balanced. Youngters, especially teenagers, of the 21st century have busy lives with various pressures but with regular yoga or indeed any exercise we can tap into a feeling of wellness and calm. There is also the outreach to like-minded friends through the social aspect of group classes.
We can access our mind and state of calm through our body with regular interoception combined with mindful movement and breathing. The benefits of being in the parasympathetic state (the opposite to fight and flight) are numerous, including regulating hormones, better sleep, improved immunity, self awareness for example. Regular yoga practise has been proven to help with the effects of PTSD.
This class is hopefully one of many. Please come with an open mind and bring a mat and a blanket for the final resting pose. We have a limited amount of spare mats and blankets, don't worry if you don't have one, please let us know and you are very welcome to borrow one of ours. It is a donation-based class 100% of funds raised go to WillDoes.
We hope this will be an outdoor session, in the event of strong wind and /or rain we will be indoors. Please dress accordingly (layers).
We will have some home-made bakes and drinks after the class.
