Story
The Background Story.
On Monday April 27th 2020, we had a plan to ride as Cycling group from our Sumo Digital HQ in Sheffield, all the way down to SpecialEffect HQ in Oxfordshire. A distance of around 140 miles. We had hoped to pick up other Sumo cyclists along the way, from our other studios, and help to raise some funds.
Then the world turned upside down with the horrific virus situation, and everything was postponed even before it could be promoted :-(
The New Story!
So now, on Sunday May 24th, we are planning to do the same distance, but as a virtual ride, using the cycling app ZWIFT on home turbo trainers.
ROUTE UPDATE: The Zwift map we will be riding on the day will be Watopia's Big Foot Hills. This is a 67.5km (41.9 mile) lap, with 637m (2090ft) ascent each lap. We will be doing approximately 3.5 laps!
Right now, we have three riders here in Sheffield, but we are hoping for more! We want to get as many other road cyclists involved, assuming they have the equipment, the app and the ability to ride for around ten hours. If you are interested in joining us for the full or part distance, please reply to me individually (Dave Blewett), and we can make the arrangements. We also hope to live stream the event somehow, but we need to figure that out.
Zwift Details
Looks like you can get a 7 day free trial to Zwift if you do not have it already. Details here:

If you would like to join us or not, we would appreciate it if you could share our Just Giving page far and wide, and help to generate some funds and raise awareness!
Thanks
for reading, and hope to see you on the virtual road!
