Story
UPDATE: As part of the second stage of our fundraising, Dave Blewett will be running a 52 mile Ultra Marathon from Calais to Le Touquet on Day 1 of TwinTown 18!
“When we arrived in Le Touquet for Twin Towns 2016, we were shown a video of the amazing work that SpecialEffect do, and the fantastic impact it has on young lives. During the video there was barely a dry eye in the room. I made a decision there and then, that this was going to be my chosen charity going forwards, and was honoured to become an ambassador for them.
I have supported SpecialEffect during several distance events since then, but more to raise awareness of the charity. By doing this ultra-marathon 52 mile (83km) run, I want us to raise some BIG money too, and would welcome your support.” - Dave Blewett

We're happy to help support SpecialEffect in their work to improve the quality of life for disabled people. They help enable them to use computers in any way possible – using whichever part(s) of their body that work best - by adapting technology to their individual needs. It’s so important they can join in with family/friends, to be included and not left out, giving them a much better quality of life, a little independence when they often have to rely on others for everything else, some much needed escapism & FUN!
