Eric loved jazz music from an early age.  He became a trombone player and fronted a number of bands, performing with fellow musicians for over 50 years, in and around Chester - many of which became life long friends.  

Eric's knowledge of his favorite musicians and their work was encylopedic!  He also had a very keen ear, as could name musicians from hearing them play.  He continued to play sides, and share his music knowledge with friends and family his whole life.

Eric was aware that not all hard working musicians were fortunate, or able to support themselves in their retirement.  This is our way of sharing Eric's love of music and social responsibility with others. 

'Help Musicians' is the working name of the 'Musicians' Benevolent Fund' - a UK charity offering help and support to working and retired musicians, other professionals in the music industry, and their dependents.  Every gift made will be used to make a difference to the life of a musician.
