Hundreds of pregnant cats will be roaming the streets this summer; cats like Beatrix who was found sheltering in a ditch during a thunder storm, immediately after giving birth to 5 kittens. Unfortunately, despite her best efforts to keep them dry and warm, 4 had already sadly passed away due to being exposed to the elements. The remining kitten, Flopsy, and her mother Beatrix were brought into the care of Cats Protection Gildersome where they received the shelter, warmth and care they needed. 

Unfortunately, due to Beatrix being a kitten herself and the stressful experience she had endured, she found being a mother extremely overwhelming. As a last resort, and in the best interest of Beatrix and her kitten, Flopsy was cared for around the clock by one of our amazing hand rear fosterers in order to be given the best chance of survival. 

We're raising money for Cats Protection who help cats like Beatrix and Flopsy as they begin their journeys to safety and to happy new homes giving them the best start possible. Please help to give every cat mum who is lost, hungry and alone the extra special care they need. Your contribution to Cats Protection will make an impact. 

• A £5 donation will feed a hungry cat mum like Beatrix with specialist food for 25 days. 
• £20 will provide a safe and comfortable place to give birth and 
• £50 will provide a cat or kitten with veterinary treatment to help get them ready for a new home.
