Story
Thanks for taking the time to visiting our JustGiving page.
I (Suk) was diagnosed with MS 5 years ago after getting double vision. Its been a rough 5 years with many many relapses and sadly continued progression of this horrible disease. Last week I got the results of my latest MRI scan which showed activity for the 5th straight year.
Multiple Sclerosis is a lifelong condition which affects your brain and spinal cord. With MS, the coating that protects your nerves is damaged and over time this can lead to increased >disability.
There is currently no cure but there are a number of treatments that can help
I have tried and failed 4 different treatments & will be having my second dose of Lemtrada in October. Lemtrada (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alemtuzumab) is usually used to treat leukemia and looks to wipe out all my white blood cells & reboot my immune system. I will be out of action for a little while after this so am looking to do something in September whilst in ok shape. Jumping out a plane is right up my street as falling has become a common occurence!
My good friend John Thwaites will be joining me and making sure that a)I get on the right plane and b) I actually go through with it. John and his family have been amazing with there support and even put me up at their place countless times despite my numerous annoying messy habits! It will be amazing to share this experience with him :)
(I have requested I get to push him out...)
MS Society have supported me through giving a wealth of advice and setting up support groups which have helped me to connect with other people in similar positions. They are an amazing charity and are fighting hard to stop MS in its tracks. Any support is greatly appreciated!
Please note that all money raised will go to MS Society, we will pay for the jump itself myself
