Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.
We are raising money for Diabetes UK in memory of Lisa Day, who sadly passed away on the 12th September 2015 due to a case of severe Diabetic ketoacidosis – a fatal complication if not treated urgently. Lisa was only 27 when she died, there are so many things that she didn't get to do in life. We want to make sure something positive comes out of such a sad situation and to make sure that her legacy lives on.
Donating your hard earned cash to this wonderful charity will mean they can continue to fund new research and one day help find a cure – which is the ultimate dream. Alongside the drug trials they also run care events for young newly diagnosed diabetics and their family’s. It gives the opportunity for children, young people, adults and families affected by Type 1 diabetes to meet others, share similar experiences and learn from each other. For more information on the care events please visit: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/How_we_help/Care-events/
