Story
Hello all and thanks so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know, I ran the London Marathon back in 2005 for Help The Hospices. Now apart from the birth of my two children, it remains one of the highlights of my entire life. When I ran the marathon, I remember telling people that no-one close to me had ever needed to use a hospice. Well within 12 months of that race, one of my close friends died in a hospice. One of the few crumbs of comfort I felt at the time, was the thought that I had helped raise a great deal of money for a charity that was now helping my dear friend. Well, Help The Hospices need our help again and so I'm strapping my trainers back on.
Now the years haven't been kind, so the full 26 and a bit miles, is a little beyond me this time. But happily I have been invited to run a relay leg of the Edinburgh Marathon. Only 4.7 miles this time, but enough to require me to do a spot of training and some more fund-raising. So come on. If I am to humilate myself yet again in lycra, which is such an unforgiving garment, then the least you can do is pay for the privilege of giggling at my substantial behind....
Anything would be gratefully recieved and would make a real difference. Thank you. Now that's it from me. I think I'm supposed to leave the next paragraph on the page as well, but I'm not sure. I am sorry. Honestly the internet, technology and indeed just plain written instructions, remain beyond me...... Happy sponsoring......
