Story

Hello to all

Some of our walkers have completed the challenge.

Thank you to everybody that has sponsored me and the rest of my team.

On the second attempt of this challenge some of our original walkers (one being myself) completed the challenge in 10.5hrs a fantastic 1.5hrs under the challenge time. The walkers that completed the challenge found it to be gruelling but are proud of their achievement.

There will be a further attempt at the challenge for those walkers that were unable to take part in this attempt so watch this space.

So far with your help we have managed to raise over £1,300 so again we would like to say thank you for all your support and generosity.

Hi My name is Sue and I am an area business manager with Stonham.  I have no experience of walking this kind of distance but I live in the Pennines and walk my dogs a lot, although not necessarily this far!

I have seized this opportunity to do something different with my colleagues and the people we support, where we will all be challenged.  I am sure that we will all learn from this experience and feel we have achieved something together.

I hope that people will sponsor me so we can fund further projects and achieve even more positive things with and for the people we support.

Stonham Challenge Profile

Stonham provides housing, care and practical support for vulnerable people. Stoneham's work is about ensuring that disadvantaged people can live securely and independently. It works with single homeless people, people with mental health problems, young people leaving care, women and children escaping domestic violence, ex-offenders, refugees, vulnerable mothers and people with substance misuse problems.

We will be climbing the Yorkshire three peaks in the hope of building up enough sponsorship money to help us fund further projects including taking part in the national three peaks challenge next year.

This project was seen as an ideal opportunity for staff and residents of Stonham to develop team working skills and confidence.  All parties involved are looking forward to the huge sense of pride and achievement they will get from completing this project..
