Story
Hello. I'm running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for my Dad's tribute fund and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, in recognition of the fantastic support they offer to people suffering from this illness and their families.
I ran my first 10K race for them in 2009, the year after Dad died, and have done a few races of that distance since.
However, the time has come to push things to the next level! I haven't badgered anyone for sponsorship money for four years, and 13 miles is a fair old distance - so come on, dig deep!

WHAT IS MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE?
MND is a rapidly progressive, fatal disease that can affect any adult at any time. It affects around 5,000 people in the UK at any one time and at least five people a day die from MND.
Life expectancy for most people with MND is just two to five years and around half of those diagnosed will die within 14 months of diagnosis.
We don’t know the cause of over 95% of cases and there is currently no cure.
MND leaves people unable to walk, talk or feed themselves. People with MND can still think and feel, but their muscles refuse to work.
Its key devastating feature is the speed of progression which can pose huge problems of adjustment for people living with MND and their families and carers, and a challenge to our healthcare services.
