Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm running for the Alzheimers Society because my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers over two years ago. The Alzheimers Society has given me great emotional and practical support. They enable thousands of carers to go on day after day with the challenging task of caring for their loved ones. The Society also researches into treatments and cures and campaigns to improve the care given to sufferers. There can hardly be a family who is not affected in some way by dementia and those numbers will grow as we all live longer.
This is my very first marathon and hopefully a dream fulfilled. I'm excited and a bit scared. It's great that this is MK's first marathon too.

At last I have managed to get a pic of my running tee on my page. Me in the tee is too many pixels. This is the tee I will be wearinfg for the MK Half marathon on sunday March 4th. Half way to the full distance!
I'm very chuffed with myself. I completed the Half Marathon in 2hrs 26mins, that's 6 mins faster than last year. Maybe the wind, rain, sleet and snow had something to do with it! Just desperate to get in the dry. Hence no after picture. At the end I couldn't feel my swollen fingers and couldn't get my time chip off and then had to gnaw through the plastic wrapping to get my silver sheet thingy out. Today, tues 6th March, was an hour's slow plod rather than the alternating brisk running followed by a jog demanded by the training schedule. Am I too old for this after all?
