Story
I am part of a team of 6 taking part in the 100k walk. We are supporting different charities and I have chosen to support The Make a Wish Foundation UK. This charity makes wishes come true for children aged 3 years to 17 years. A wish could be garden play equipment, a trip to Disney World, be a DJ for a day or maybe just a day shopping. On average each wish is about £4000. At any one time volunteers are working on 500 wishes and an average of 19 wishes each week come true. The aim of the charity is for every one of the 20,000 U.K children living with a life threatening condition to share in the magic and have a wish come true. Why this charity when so many need support? I watched a film based on a true story about a young girl who had cancer it was a very moving story and showed the impact on families living with a loved one with a life threatening condition. This young girls wish was to see the White House and The Oval Office. The Make A Wish team made this wish come true and she met Bill Clinton. (who played himself in the film) Sometimes you watch or see something and it just makes you think if I get a chance to help make a difference I will support this charity and this is my time with your support to help make a difference and to help make a childs wish come true. If your donation is the cost of a coffee, £5 or £10 whatever you can give to support me and The Make A Wish Foundation would be fantastic as every penny helps to give a child a wish full of fun and laughter but also a life long memory for all the family.
A BIG THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. Sue.
