VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2019 · 2 June 2019 ·
Unfortunately, we all know of somebody who has the affected with cancer. We as a group of oncology nurses would like to raise money in an effort to provide a more homely environment for our patients. Some of our patient on the oncology/haematology ward spend 6 months to a year in our care. Our aim is to try to improve their experience as much as we can from diagnosis to discharge. We recently conducted a survey amongst our patients to find out what they thought would make their stay at St. Vincent’s Ward easier and how we could make it feel more ‘like home’. Patients felt that we would benefit from providing fitness equipment such as exercise bikes and other forms of holistic care. We are running the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon and we hope with your support we can raise enough funds to to have these items, and more, available to patients in our care.
