Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page raising money for CLAN in memory of my mum Jean.
Close friends and family will be aware that my mum and best friend Jean Turner, unfortunately lost her fight against cancer. She was the person who inspired me to be ambitious and really push myself to my mental and physical limit. In light of this I am running in 17 races so far over the course of this year, ranging from a 5k to a 110k Ultra Marathon up Ben Nevis totalling just over 500k, in the hope that I keep making her proud (while also shaking off the looming dad bod that has squirmed its way from the pint glass to my belly).
I am running on behalf of CLAN, who I have ran for previously, but no amount of money I could ever raise for them would be enough for the services they provide to all of those affecting by cancer in the North East of Scotland. Even I personally have received some much needed advice at times, along with a massage and a cracking cup of tea from their friendly, devoted and kind-hearted volunteers. So please guys, unfortunately I'm doing the hard part and putting my body through hell, but it is just as important that you guys donate anything you can, no matter how small, to help reach the ambitious target of £1250 for this great cause, it truly will make a massive difference for people affected by cancer and will help pull everyone through.
